VISIT TO THE ORGANIC FARM PLATANOLÓGICO

The plantation has been destroyed by the eruption of the volcano in September 2021. The water supply has been cut off and there are lava ash all over the estate. We started the reconstruction and the first new plants were planted in June 2022; however, the water supply has not yet been restored. We hope to be able to harvest our first crop in 2023, but we will welcome visitors again since August 2022.

Guided farm tours are €20 per person. Fran will show you how he grows bananas from the Canary Islands and how and why it is done organically. We will also comment on the importance of a organic food production for a good diet and what forecasts there are for the future plus how we live with volcanoes.

After the presentation, which lasts approximately 90 minutes, we will have a solar tea.

The funds will be used to rebuild the farm. You can also buy a t-shirt.

The meeting point is on the road Puerto Naos to El Remo – near the entrance to the Sol Hotel.
